Patient Etiquette

  • A parent/guardian must always be in the home for speech treatment. We will not enter a home if a parent/guardian is not present.

  • If you have other children present in the home they are allowed to watch, but we ask that they do not interrupt or answer questions for the child receiving therapy. If they begin to become a distraction they will not be allowed to watch.

  • Parents are also encouraged to watch; sometimes a child performs better when a parent is not watching, but checking in or listening from another room.

  • Therapy can be held in any room your child feels comfortable. The door will be kept open.

  • Please do not allow your child to have their I-pad before or during treatment. We have speech & language games on our I-pad that we use as a reward at the end of the session (with parent permission).

  • Please cancel when your child is sick. We will do the same.

Cancellation Policy

  • We understand that occasional changes are necessary due to illnesses, vacations, etc. Please call within 24 hours of the scheduled appointment if you need to cancel or reschedule.

  • If a session is delayed more than 15 minutes by the client, there may be a $10 late fee.

  • If a therapy session is not cancelled and is considered a “no show” this may result in a $25 “no show” fee.

  • Participation with your therapy is required and we may need to remove the patient from the therapist's schedule if efforts are not made.

  • We believe these rules apply to us too; if a session is delayed more than 15 due to our therapist a $10 credit will be applied to your child’s account. And if we miss an appointment unannounced a $25 credit will be applied.
